Army Knife for Android

This app contains a set of tiny tools: a unit converter, a compass (magnetometer required), a bubble level, a calculator, a stop watch, a timer, a magnifying glass, a mirror (front camera required), a ruler and a flashlight (app and widget).

Essentially it’s like an "Army Knife" Android app.

Each tool does what it is supposed to do. There's no space for special effects like 3d compass, talking level, psychedelic flashlight etc: the goal is to have a lightweight, fast and easy to use set of tools, one "tap" away from your home screen.

This app is the size of a common "standalone tool" like a compass, a flashlight or a magnifying glass. This way you'll save a lot of disk space. You'll save network consumption too, not only for the first download but for every update too.
It doesn't require network access, the permission to write on your flash memory or the permission to read your contacts.
If you find a bug, please contact us using the "Report a bug" main menu function.

- Depending on the hardware capabilities of your smartphone, some tools may not be present

- The permission to use the camera is required in order to turn on the camera flash LED. Some smartphones (for instance the Google Nexus S) don't light the flash LED if the camera is not running. If you check the most popular flashlight apps, you'll find out that they all require this permission. Android Army Knife doesn't shot any photos, doesn't save multimedia info onto the flash card and doesn't send anything on the internet: it doesn't require the network permission at all.

- This app was first released on may 2011 and since then is free and without banners!.

WARNING: My App Permission Monitor has detected this app using the camera permission in the background at various times between 3:30 PM and 10:30 PM. This has occurred 5 times in the last 12 days. I believe this app is spying on me. The tools are great, but not worth being spied on. This may be the reason this great App is free and ad-free???

Ethan Mayer

Did everything it said it would do, and is advertisement-free. I don't need all the utilities, but the flashlight app actually uses both flash lenses on my camera, making it much brighter than my phones' built-in flashlight utility and than all other apps I have tried. Highly recommended.

Brooke Hamill

Excellent! Free, no ads, no unnecessary permissions, privacy friendly. When most other stand-alone tools are full of ads and intrusive permissions, this one offers EVERYTHING for free while respecting your privacy and maintaining top-level functionality. A REAL GEM. Love the latest feature where each tool appears as a separate window in recent apps. Thank you so much!

Works great! I really get a lot of use out of the unit converter. I would \nlike to see time units as something to convert though. The range of units I \ncan see for it run from microseconds or milliseconds up to centuries or \nmillennium, possibly skipping month (unless you want to define a \"standard \nmonth\" as 365.24 days / 12 \u003d 30.44 days).

Fantastic. Just fantastic. This is an app that everybody needs on their phone; period. It's a collection of super useful tools that most people spend time in the app store separately, myself included; I found it by chance looking for a 2019 goals app, and I think it may become my favorite app. The \"Ruler\" tool is a little wonky because of the average phone's screen size, regardless though, download it; you won't regret it.

My eyes are not what they once were, so as a joke I tried the magnifying \nglass and OMG I can see the writing on my tires so no more guessing at the \nproper inflation pressure. That one feature makes the app worth having, the \nrest of the features are just great bonus features.

Just downloaded app and love the concept. Compass issue; whatever direction \nyour phone is pointing on startup it will always be pointing north! So \nunless you know where north is before you start your compass it will be \nuseless. Need to have compass point north on startup no matter what \ndirection your facing. Seems like a great app once this is fixed. Thank you

Great tools except flashlight. Once on it dims screen too low to see it, \nand I cannot turn the light off even closing the app. Reboot phone \nrequired. They got so much right with everything else, but total fail on \nthe light.

Franz Feil

Not great for the Moto x4. The x4 has a magnetometer but it is not \nrecognised by this app so the compass doesn't appear (works fine for other \ncompass apps). Magnifying glass is badly out of focus on the x4. Moto \nactions already gives much more convenient gesture-based flashlight on the \nx4. Stopwatch and spirit level work well and are useful items.

My only complaint is that the icon is ugly but screw that because this app has helped me out so much through life, I think it's a must-have in every phone. It won't let you down :)
