The CBC app used to be my go to news source. The recent addition of pop-up ads as an article is clicked goes too far. Also, I long since have stopped watching videos in the app; two forced advertisements to watch a 20 second, raw, unedited, zero production value clip is just not worth my time. This from Canada's public broadcaster funded (largely) through tax dollars. I'll be looking for a new go to new source now.

I have always been a fan of CBC. I have been experiencing some frustration lately though opening some news articles and streaming some news videos on my tablet. They just will not open. I do not have this problem with other sites.

2 weeks ago Poll Tracker stopped loading at all, and this week all videos and livestreams stopped working. The \"new features\" (background playing) are making the CBC app useless on Samsung tablets, at least, their tech people have completely screwed up the CBC app recently with \"improvements.\" The CBC sports app is also useless now, wont play videos or livestream, just in time for playoffs. CBC's web designers are the worst.

This was a good app, and I used it for several years. Recently, obtrusive full-screen ads have been appearing over article text. These ads frequently have loud audio. I will no longer be using this app, and would recommend all users delete it.

too many duplicate news articles back to back. need to have articles date time stamped and ordered reverse chronological order. mandatory spell check and proofing and grammar should be employed. kindly remove duplicates to start. use other online news outlets as models for best practice or become the gold standard yourself.

A strong sense of objectivity, or at least a sincere effort to be so makes CBC one of my go-to news sites when trying to get a clearer idea of what is happening in Canada and elsewhere. Greater funding, a return to pre-Harper cuts would be welcome.

i downloaded just to rate 1 star. you alrwafy have an instant app \"installed\" screw off and give me my space back on my phone. No one likes apps shoved down their throat.

I try to get my unbiased view on American politics from the CBC. As a displaced Canadian/American, living down in the lower 48, this is the best way to keep up to speed with the goings on in Canada.

Excellent, world class journalism done at BBC levels of professionalism. Upsets the right wing who want to be fed fake news and conspiracy theories. The CBC is an important cornerstone of Canadian democracy. If we ever lose it we will enter a dark age of corporate filtered information and right wing propaganda passing as \"news.\"

too many pictures taking up too much space. pictures fill the frame with little bits of text in between. shorten things up, pictures on half pages, if you must.
