The fun part? It only takes 5 minutes a day. In fact that’s all the time you get! Insane? Yes. Works? Absolutely!

Cornerstones of Drops:

? Drops is 100% visual: We use pictures to directly connect the meaning to - not to your native language! No middleman. Quicker, better and more fun! :)
?️ 5 minute session limit: limiting learning time may sound counterintuitive but it makes Drops incredibly addictive which is not a bad thing when we talk about language learning. The barrier of entry is nonexistent. No excuses: you ALWAYS have 5 minutes!
?️ Effortless practice: We took a good look at why games are so fun and addictive and injected the essence into Drops to create an app that is freakishly immersive but in this case you don’t waste your time playing instead you build a valuable asset: knowledge of a new language.
⚡Rapid pace: We believe in quick pace and typing on your phone’s keyboard is nothing but fast. Say hello to rapid swipes and taps! You’ll need those extra seconds to get the most out of your 5 minutes ;)
? Vocabulary focus: No grammar, only curated words with high practical value. Drops focuses on one thing and it does it extremely well. Drops also teaches “alphabet” courses for beginners in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Hebrew, Arabic, Russian and Hindi.
?Forge learning habit: Drops wants to convert you into a language learning addict. No matter how effective your learning tool is, if you don’t use it on a daily basis, it doesn’t really matter. Drops tricks your mind and you’ll be better for it!

App instantly had me hooked. I'm looking to seriously beef up my vocabulary to a professional level, and as far as I can tell, this is the place to start on mobile. Feedback: Maybe once you select an answer and it pops up on your screen again, it can show the hiragana/Kanji and the translated word. I keep having to remind myself over and over what the symbols mean. Maybe that's intentional. Either way, it's working. Also the game that has you pick multiple matching bubble pairs is kind of laggy

for the current offering of languages, it's great. the delivery of content and methods they chose to teach are very creative. My biggest complaint is this is like many other language apps in regards to the languages they offer. I have yet to find an app that offers the slavik languages which are from countires like Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and far more. I was surprised when they recently offered Maori, which is spoken by 50,000. In comparison Slavik languages are spoken by 315 million.

Not bad for vocabulary. If you don't already have a foundation in basic Japanese, then you won't be able to make use of what you learn. Fun for free as I believe that 5 minutes is adequate enough to practice without getting \"muscle memory\" instead of actually learning. Will update in a few months to see if it improves my vocab noticeably.

I really like how this app makes language (vocabulary) learning so much fun. I've been using it for almost a month and have learnt a lot - I look forward to playing it each day. I would happily do more than 5 minutes practice at a time - 10 or 15 minutes would be ideal and I'd learn faster. My main gripe is that pricing is way too expensive - a lifetime subscription is more than NZ$270, which is astronomical. Given how many reviewers comment on the pricing, I hope the developers reconsider this.

Looks beautiful and great UX but one big flaw. I guess they've made it to be multilingual in that it shows you the (in my case) french word and an icon rather than the English translation. I could see a word in french, understand it, but I needed to remember the icon when I just wanted to click the corresponding english word. I found this very irritating.

too fast. and I already know Arabic letters and how to read them. so the English transliteration was distracting. i just want to learn the language. you should test peoples knowledge first before throwing them into a fast discombobulated lesson.

I didn't find any way to give feedback in the app or the website, so I thought I'd do it here. I would really appreciate if Drops was available in the browser, just like Duolingo and Memrise, as my phone is old and I can only use this on my wife's phone. This rating goes for the availability and not the app itself.

very nicely designed app for learning vocabulary. I like the 5 minute limit. Maybe there could be a version of the app for children that only enables 5 minutes per day in each language and doesn't have ads. I'd add that to my family's devices.

Jazmin Abernathy

Just my 1st lesson so far, but really enjoying it. Five minute chunks are hard to justify putting off. Plus, it's visually catching just enough not to be too distracting. I can see myself sticking to this for a while.

I was thinking of giving 3 star but it was a great apps before , now I am hopeless that its not working with the new update.
