Edit: Upon the response from Jake Ruston, I'm changing my review. I didn't understand how ads worked in their case and was too harsh. Now that midterms are over I may give this app another shot in hopes of a better experience.

EXCELLENT idea for an app! However, the main reason I installed this was for audible notification whenever I'm out walking our dog, and thus, I really only need the audible notifications whenever I'm outside walking her, and sometimes I forget to turn off the audible notifications whenever Piper and I have returned to the house. Therefore, would it be possible to have a setting in this app where it monitors lightning strikes ONLY when it's running, to make it a little more goof-proof?

was what's not very impressed at all. very inaccurate. I can see my suburb on the map represented by the blue dot and able to see the exact map of my own area tapping on the blue dot showed my home location is a country town 47 km away did not show any lightning strikes at all even though at this time having a very severe electrical storm with lots of lightning and it did not show any strikes at all needless to say I uninstalled it

Great to be alerted when lightning tends to be imminent, so safety precautions may be implemented!

What's the difference between the paid and free version???

The map would show. Just dots on a blank screen show where there was a strike

A good app. I'm responsible for lightning alerts at work. I appreciate that you can set the desired notification radius and frequency. Being able to click on a strike and see how long ago it occurred is nice. Two requests: please include the radius display on the main map in the Android version. I see the iphone version has this. Also, please change the notification radius setting control from a slider to a number input. The slider is clumsy.

This is a really nice app. It does a great job on locatating lighting.

I believe it's pretty accurate because once I get a notification while at home, I check the radar on my PC and sure enough, there is storm activity in that area. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is, every time I change the distance for notifications is, it always reverts back to 37 miles. I'd like to keep it within 15 miles but it never stays.
