Rick Steves Audio Europe ™

This app organizes the vast and varied library of Rick Steves’ audio content into geographic-specific playlists so that travelers can enjoy ready access to the information that relates specifically to their travel plans. Many tracks provide general cultural and sightseeing information gleaned from his public radio program, Travel with Rick Steves. Other tracks are self-guided tours to great sights and historic walks. While we travel there’s lots of down time, and this application can both entertain and teach. Rick Steves Audio Europe will hopefully make your European travels more meaningful and more fun.

• The app downloads and stores audio files on your device. No Wi-Fi or cellphone connection is required to listen. (You will need a connection if you choose to add audio tracks later.)
• Handy maps (PDF) that complement the self-guided audio tours can be viewed on your device.
• The audio content originates from Rick Steves guidebooks and the Travel with Rick Steves public radio program. Self-guided tours are excerpted from Rick Steves country and city guidebooks.
• Rick Steves Audio Europe is a work in progress. New audio tracks will be added and existing tracks updated as necessary.

good but it drives me crazy that it won't close fully and that I have to force stop it each time to remove it from my notifications bar. content is interesting, but you can't tell when they were published/how up to.date things are.

Found this guide much better than any other audio guide available at every place in Europe. Steve's narration brings in a different charm. One possible addition could be integration with GPS for real time guidance along the routes and orientation.

very nice app and audioguides. i've already tried Rome and Sicily and they are worth it. only minus is that on Android I don't seem to have the Fast Forward button as I've seen ios has.

Rick Steves's audio tours are a fantastic way to get a deeper understanding of places you may visit. They are easily as good as the commercial on-site options (if they even exist), and they're free! The local interviews also offer interesting insights

My family - 2 adults, 2 kids (8 \u0026 10) - used these audio tours for ALL museum visits in Italy. Preloaded everything we needed on our phones, borrowing 2 old phones from friends for our kids' use. (Bring earbuds too!) Not too long or short. Targets the highlights so you don't miss the \"big ones\" but also don't burnout or museum overload. Humorous at times. Full of fun facts and anecdotes. Kept the attention of the old and young. Really helped make the museums come alive. Self-paced; easy to skip ahead or back to stay away from large tour groups passing. Built-in maps and text were helpful aids.

Fantastic app! Saved a small fortune in audio guides at major attractions across Europe using this app. From my experience, Rick's guides are better than the paid audio guides many sights offer, with much more humour and history interlaced. The City Walking Tours became a must on our recent trip to Europe and acted as a great way to orient ourselves in each new city while picking up travel tips and history along the way.

Mixed results so far. Good in most sites in Florence. Really enjoyed the walking tour of Rennaisance Florence. As of late October 2018, the Uffizi tour was worthless. Not Rick's fault, the exhibits had moved, but regardless of fault, I recommend not relying on this for the Uffizi.

great app, used it for the Acropolis tour and a walking tour of Athens. Just the right about of information, funny and a great pace. Can't recommend it enough.

Great Audio tours. Better than many others and gives you a focus when you are wandering around. Also love the podcasts that help you get into the ambiance of a new country or culture.
